A study at a suburban high school in Arizona found students’ involvement in social activities seems to play a significant role in students’ lives where school has more dominant influence to students than urban schools.
Students who belong to a social group like school body or sports club show positive attitude towards their school lives and have contacts with teachers but they aren’t the majority of the students.
There are more students who don’t have such social connections with others or personal contacts with teachers and don’t enjoy their school lives.
This is especially problematic to teenagers in an influential school community because they are still immature and vulnerable to social challenges.
